FAQ

  • Q: What do the different colors on the chart mean?
A: MeFertil gives you a clear, color-coded chart for easy reading:
    • Red marks the days of your period.
    • Yellow indicates the days during which you are not likely to be fertile.
    • Pink displays your fertile days, with bright pink (!) signaling the peak day.
  • Q: What are the boxes at the bottom of the chart?
A: Your journal entries include qualitative information about your cycle, such as cervical mucus, intercourse or medication. We display some of the relevant data at the bottom of your chart. The box marked "Fer" will be highlighted in pink for all your fertile days and will remain empty for all the other days. "IC" will be green on all days when intercourse is recorded in the journal entry. "Med" will be orange if you took any medication on a particular day and recorded it in your journal.
You can also view information by clicking on "i" button in the left top corner of your chart.
  • Q: What are the vertical and horizontal red lines that appear on my chart?
A: After the temperature shifts for at least three days, a red coverline will appear on your chart, drawing a distinction between your follicular and luteal phase temperatures. If your temperature remains above the coverline for at least 18 days after ovulation you should test for pregnancy.
  • Q: How do I start a new cycle?
A: To start a new cycle:
    • Click on the Profile button at the bottom of the screen
    • Click on Current Cycle.
    • Tap the Edit button
    • The "Add New Cycle" option will appear on your screen. Select the date you would like the new cycle to start and save.
You are now ready to enter journal entries for new cycle.
  • Q: How do I reprogram an existing cycle?
A: If for any reason you need to change the start dates of an existing cycle:
    • Click the Profile button on the bottom of the chart screen
    • Click "Cycle Started on" and select the cycle you would like to re-configure.
    • Select the new date and click Re-configure Current Cycle.
  • Q: How do I edit a journal entry?
A: To edit or add information to your journal:
    • Click on the Edit button on your chart
    • Select the cycle you would like to edit.
    • Once you've selected the cycle you can choose the date and proceed to the journal.
    • Remember to click Save once you entered all the information.
  • Q: What if I skipped a day or two and have no BBTs to enter?
A: The chart line will remain on your last entered temperature, and the days you skipped will be marked x on the chart — so you realize that they do not reflect actual BBT entries. Please note that this may impact the chart analysis.
  • Q: Do I really need BBT thermometer, or can I use regular thermometer?
A: We recommend that you use a BBT thermometer, which is more reliable, more accurate, and can be easily found in your local drugstore.
  • Q: What are average BBTs?
A: The typical range of BBTs is 97.0-97.7F before ovulation and 97.7-99.0F after ovulation. In most cases the temperature will not bounce around more than 0.5 degrees in the follicular phase, and will stay above the coverline during the luteal phase.
